Sunday Snippet Mar 31 2024

Welcome to this week's news and views from around the resort.

You heard it first on the Sunday Snippet. The web team are proud to announce a great new GemLife initiative for our Bribie Island community, called GemNet. Free monthly internet will be available to all residents.

To participate all you have to do is hand over ownership of just one of your electronic devices to the scheme, just like you did with your solar panels, and you will receive FREE INTERNET.

Handing over ownership will not affect any warranty that you have on your device. For further details and how to register just click on the link below.

Save the date Sunday 21st April

If you attended this year's Australia Day event in the clubhouse you will of course remember the great game show card game that was played - Higher Or Lower.

Popular demand has dictated that we will play this game for the whole community on Sunday 21st April.

For those not familiar with the game, it is very easy, lots of fun, played by the whole table. Each person sitting at the winning table will receive a $10 Lakeside Cafe voucher or a $10 Pie N' Peas voucher. Better than winning the lottery !!

So round up your friends, your neighbours and grab yourself a table in the clubhouse on Sunday 21st April. Bar opens at 3pm and the first of two games will begin at 3:30pm. No entry fee - this fun event for everybody is sponsored by The Social Group and Cathy Cooper's Pie N' Peas team.

Saturday 27th April

The booking forms for this fabulous show are now in your letterboxes. ONLY $35 per person. Complete the booking form and place your money (notes preferred) in LETTERBOX 23 asap. Seats for this show are selling fast !!

Congratulations to the Music Special Songs winners Extra Pins, who managed to hold off three other serious challengers to win by 2 points. The Handicap section was won by Rolling Crystal Stones, despite the loss of two members who were enjoying the Parisian sunshine. Cavaliers went away happy with the Wooden Spoon.

Come along on a Wednesday night - only $1 to take part in the best trivia on Bribie Island. Form your own team, or a couple of our regular teams are looking for new members. Enjoy the trivia, lucky door, a wonderful raffle and of course the chance to win $1,000 on Find The Gem.

Next Trivia is MUSIC FAVOURITES on Wednesday 3rd April.

Starting from Wednesday April 3 there will be a visiting podiatrist here in the consulting room of the clubhouse. To make an appointment ring 3408 6608.

The podiatrist will be here every other Wednesday - hours are 9am to 3pm

If you think that Line Dancing is a bit boring, just check out our three groups.

First the Intermediate Group

...... and the Improver Group

...... and the Beginner Group

If you can spot how many ladies are in more than one photo, Lynne will give you a pair of bunny ears to keep until next Easter. How good is that !!

An extra 30 mins in bed for all the walkers in the Walking Group. Our regular walks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will now start at 6:00am. Meet as usual by the pickleball court entry.

Patti is still on her world tour, so

NO CLASS on Monday 1 April and Monday 8 April.

Stretch and Extend will resume on Monday 15 April at 9:30am.

We now have an all-singing all-dancing new guillotine in the library. If you feel the need to do some guillotining, knock yourself out.

The al fresco area and BBQ Terrace area at the back of the clubhouse (or is that the front ??) will be undergoing some repairs and maintenance beginning Monday 8th April, and is due to finish Tuesday 30th April. Sadly if you have booked this area between those dates then your booking will be cancelled - don't shoot the messenger. I don't know if access to the jetty area will be affected, but if you prepare for the worst, you won't be too disappointed.

Any bets on the finish date being pushed back ???

Free internet. Yeah you got me. Good one. 😆

I clicked on it too, Carolyn, not with any intention of joining up, but arming myself with more information. Brilliant trap! 😁

With great trepidation, I clicked on the GemNet post. I should have known better, but my excuse is that it is one o'clock in the morning. You got me!
