Sunday Snippet Mar 24 2024

Welcome to this week's news and views from around the resort.

A great turnout for our AGM last Wednesday. A huge thank you to all HOC members for all their work in the past year.

Hearty congrats to all HOC members that are staying on for another year, and all the best to the new HOC members - long may you all reign

Another good turnout in the clubhouse on Friday for the BIG Raffle. Many thanks to Vikki and Cath for all their hard work ensuring that we have a great raffle each month. Our thanks also go to Tom and Macey who stepped up and drew all the winning tickets. Trouble is they didn't draw grandma or grandpa's tickets. Maybe next time.

Not forgetting the hard working ladies (and gent) who provided us all with those amazing pie and peas straight after the raffle. Hard to believe that all those pies had absolutely no calories in them. I don't know how they do it.

Save the date

If you attended this year's Australia Day event in the clubhouse you will of course remember the great game show card game that was played - Higher Or Lower.

Popular demand has dictated that we will play this game for the whole community on Sunday 21st April.

For those not familiar with the game, it is very easy, lots of fun, played by the whole table. Each person sitting at the winning table will receive a $10 Lakeside Cafe voucher or a $10 Pie N' Peas voucher. Better than winning the lottery !!

So round up your friends, your neighbours and grab yourself a table in the clubhouse on Sunday 21st April. Bar opens at 3pm and the first of two games will begin at 3:30pm. No entry fee - this fun event for everybody is sponsored by The Social Group and Cathy Cooper's Pie N' Peas team.

Great turnout on Wednesday for Trivia - 20 teams took part.

Congratulations to the General Knowledge winners Peeps On Point, who left the rest of the field in their wake, winning by a huge margin of 5 points. The Handicap section was won by Cavaliers, who seem to be making a habit of winning the handicap section.

Come along on a Wednesday night - only $1 to take part in the best trivia on Bribie Island. Form your own team, or a couple of our regular teams are looking for new members. Enjoy the trivia, lucky door, a wonderful raffle and of course the chance to win $1,000 on Find The Gem.

Next Trivia is MUSIC SPECIAL SONGS on Wednesday 27th March
