Welcome to this week's news and views from the best over 50s resort on the planet (including Rio de Janeiro).
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I wish you all the very best for the new year. For those of you who intend to make healthy-type new year resolutions and stick to them, there are several activities and facilities here in our resort to help you. Two swimming pools and the Gym are open 24/7. Activities include tennis, pickleball, walking, stretch & extend, step, aquarobics, line dancing, sizzle & stomp, gentle exercise with Naomi and yoga.
If you intend to give your grey matter a work-out try brist, jonola, mahjong, chess and trivia.
It's all here at our fabulous resort.
VOLUNTEERS
A ginormous thank you to all our wonderful vollies who have contributed so much to our community during 2024. There are so many which makes it impossible to mention every single person. You know who you are, give yourself a pat on the back and I hope that you continue volunteering for the whole of 2025 (and beyond).
If you are thinking of volunteering, do not hesitate to step up. Many hands make light work. Every little bit helps.
LIBRARY
If you received a book as a Xmas gift and have read it, please consider donating the book to our library. The Library Volunteers are constantly striving to improve the quality of books held in our library, so the receipt of near new books is always appreciated. Just leave donations of books on the returns bench.
BINGO - 2025
Tremendous news for all Bingo addicts. Your favourite game will continue into 2025, with a new lady at the helm, Kaylene. She and her merry band of helpers will be running Bingo, initially the last two Mondays of the month. I believe that the first 2025 Bingo will be on Monday 20th January at the usual time.
SOCIAL GROUP NEWS
A couple of dates for you to take note of. Feb 15 will be a Hawaiian Night. Live band and the wood-fired Pizza Van. Ticket sales will be early January.
April 5 will be a Masquerade Ball, which sounds very intriguing. More details to follow soon.
