Sunday Snippet 22 Sept 2024

Welcome to this week's news and views from the best over 50s resort on the planet (including Noosa).

GemLife Bribie Island Residents Spring Rummage Sale

Well done organisers for picking a beautiful sunny day for our very first Rummage Sale. I hope everyone managed to grab a bargain. There is gossip going round that there will be another Rummage Sale next year.

Congratulations to Music Favourites winners Drifters. A great score in round 3 meant that they were taking home the money. Gran Torino won the handicap section, and Newbies took home Oscar the Wooden Spoon.

The next trivia is on Wednesday 25 September - General Knowledge with Kaylene.

Farewell to Peter and Tracey

Peter and Tracey Beatty have decided to open up a new chapter in their lives, moving from Bribie Island to the new GemLife resort at Moreton Bay. They have made an enormous contribution to our community here, and it will be sad to see them go. We all wish you every happiness in your new adventure. Adieu, au revoir, ciao, adios to you both.

Walking Group - Time Change

As from 1st October, the Walking Group will meet at the slightly earlier time of 6am near the Pickleball Court. This applies to each scheduled day - Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you wish to join the group and you fancy a brisk fast-paced walk then you know where to meet and at what time.

Aquarobics - Time Change

From 1st October the two pool sessions for our lovely Aqua babes will be 8:30am and 9:15am - applies to both Tuesday and Friday

Pickleball - Time Change

And another time change from 1st October for our intrepid pickleballers. Wednesday and Saturday sessions will start at 7:30am, and the Thursday evening session at 6:30pm

RURAL AID FUNDRAISER

A message from Lynne, our Line Dancing guru.

A reminder there is a Teach and Learn of Achy Breaky Heart today (Sunday 22 September) at 9.30am at the clubhouse.  If you are part of a group and want to be involved, come along, learn the dance so you can teach the others in the group.

Videoing starts on Saturday 28th September and I will work through each group as I can, so I’m coming ready or not.

I will remind you all, this is about FUN, FUNDS AND FARMERS, without the farmers in this country we would be very hungry and very naked…… and that is scary!!!

No one cares if you have two left feet, no one is looking at you, they are busy doing their own thing….. join in!! It will be fun.   It is a great cause.  Do it for the farmers.

Still need more groups to book in…… Salty Sailors; Gardening Group; Bingo; 10 Pin Bowling; Pool; and isn’t there some Golfers that missed out last year.   Where are you now?Contact Lynne on 0422 313 584 or lynnet@y7mail.com
